Being an Executor
Your role and responsibilities explained
If someone close to you has died recently, you may have been named as an Executor in their Will. But what does that mean exactly and what does it involve? Unless you’ve experienced bereavement before, you will probably be unsure as to just what you have to do. This can be a very daunting prospect, especially once you come to realise that the role carries with it considerable administrative, legal and tax responsibilities for which the Executor is ultimately liable if mistakes are made. If you find yourself in this situation, don’t worry. The Co-operative Legal Services team is here to help with practical advice and support every step of the way.
